AW Generator - Bath Controls

1. FITTING TEMPERATURE SENSOR CABLE (low voltage)

It is required that the sensor be mounted in the steam room, but not directly over the steam dispersion head or near the door. The sensor should be located in a wall 150 mm below the ceiling but no more than 2,1M above the floor. String the sensor cable from the sensor location through 12 mm holes in the wall studs or ceiling joists to the generator location. Drill a clean 22 mm hole through the steam room wall at the sensor location. Leave 305 mm of slack at the sensor location. See Diagram 9.

Note: Do not staple through or damage cable. Use factory supplied cables only.

INSTALL THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR ASSEMBLY inside the steam room. A 22 mm hole should already be in the steam room wall with the cable ready.

Make sure the sensor is not directly over the steam outlet head or near the door. The sensor should be located in a wall 150 mm below the ceiling but no more than 2,1 m above the floor. Carefully connect the sensor cable to the sensor. The cable end should slide into place and lock.

Run a light bead of silicone around the back surface of the sensor and slide it into the wall with the metal sensor tube pointed down. Tape the sensor to the wall until the silicone has set-up.

Connect the steam generator end of the cable to the sensor jack located along the top edge of the steam generator’s circuit board, between the S60A jack and the S30A terminal block.

2. FITTING CONTROL CABLE (low voltage)

A 15,2 m 4 wire CAt5 cable is provided for connecting the SIMPLE or SMART control to the steam generator. The SIMPLE and SMART controls may be mounted inside or outside the steam room. String the control cable from the control location through 13 mm holes in the wall studs or ceiling joists to the generator. Note: Do not staple through or damage cable. Use factory supplied cables only. Run the cable end through a 25,4 mm hole in the wall at the control mounting location. One SIMPLE or SMART control is required; a second may also be connected. Controls should typically be mounted 1,5 m above the floor outside the steam room or at a height comfortable for viewing inside the room while having a steam bath. See control mounting section for more information.

3. INSTALL THE SIMPLE CONTROL...

...inside or outside the steam room using the control cable installed in section 5, step 4. If mounting to a smooth, flat wall, the adhesive pad provided will work well to mount the control and seal the cable hole. The adhesive will stick to the wall quickly so be sure to accurately place and level the control before attaching it to the wall!

If the surface is uneven or has grout lines, we recommend using a small amount of silicone to mount the SIMPLE control. If using silicone, run a bead around the control’s cable end and another bead around the back of the control as shown here. Then tape in place on the wall until the silicone has set up.

Be sure to carefully level the control while mounting!

4. INSTALL THE SMART CONTROL...

...inside or outside the steam room using the control cable installed in section 5, step 4. If mounting to a smooth, flat wall, the adhesive pad provided will work well to mount the control and seal the cable hole. The adhesive will stick to the wall quickly so be sure to accurately place and level the control before attaching it to the wall!

If the surface is uneven or has grout lines, we recommend using a small amount of silicone to mount the SMART control. If using silicone, run a bead around the control’s cable end and another bead around the back of the control as shown here. Then tape in place on the wall until the silicone has set up.

Note: The control’s cable end is at the bottom of the control and a cut mark on the back indicates the top of the control!

Optional: the SMART control has a recessed mounting box which mounts into the wall so the control screen is nearly flush to the wall. Refer to Appendix for further instructions and a mounting template. When using the recesssed box, mount the SMART Control using silicone.

Be sure to carefully level the control while mounting!

5. CONNECT THE CONTROL CABLE TO THE STEAM GENERATOR...

...with the Mains voltage turned off. The control cable should be plugged into the one of the four jacks in the middle of the steam generator circuit board (see Diagram 10 and the low voltage wiring diagram on page 17).
