Steam Bathing the Helo way

The joys of steam bathing have been known and appreciated for as long as sauna has existed. Romans understood the rewards of a rich moist steam cleanse, both for hygiene and the feel of soft, silky smooth skin afterwards. Finns too have taken advantage of the purifying qualities of steam over the years, treasuring a daily bath to unwind tight muscles, stimulate blood flow, and re-emerge whole once more.

At Helo, we pride ourselves on the innovation and design of our steam generators. Dependable, qualityfocused, energy-saving and above all, producing a faultless high-humidity climate for genuine relaxation and revitalisation. Discover the difference a genuine Helo-powered steam bath can provide at your home or business.

Steam shower enclosure

It’s simple to add steam to a new or even an existing shower enclosure using a Helo steam generator. The generator is placed in the loft, garage or a cupboard, preferably within 5m of the shower – all it needs is a power and water supply (mains or tank). The steam is delivered to the shower via a copper pipe and the temperature is controlled by a thermostatic control mounted in the shower. Keep the steam in the shower by placing a steam dome on top of the enclosure or by boxing-in the area above the shower (ask Helo for detailed instructions). Add a fold-away seat to relax while bathing and, to enhance the experience, add music, lights or aroma therapy, and you have a full Turkish steam bath in your bathroom.

Steam shower room

In larger bathrooms, many people now prefer to build a full shower room instead of using an enclosure. Such rooms lend themselves perfectly to adding steam. As above, simply install a Helo steam generator in the loft, garage or cupboard, preferably within 5m, and turn your bathroom into a luxury home spa. As the shower room is already waterproof it is also suitable for steam. If you are creating the room from scratch, you may wish to incorporate bench seating. Alternatively, use one or more Helo foldaway seats to relax while bathing. And why not consider music, fibre optic lighting or aromatherapy to complement your steam experience.
